artistic support
hi everyone, how is your thursday? mine feels hurried and i am remembering to lean into calm - drinking a cup of water whenever i feel stuck or rushed is supporting me and having some mint tea earlier in my day was good. a bike ride also helped.
i went out today and found some materials to work with for some new tincture formularies that i am working on. and i am in the process of completely re-stocking my tincture shop. it has been a process to heal from all of my tinctures being stolen last year and it feels both exciting and surreal to sit with plants again with the intention of making tinctures and teas to share.
i worked on publishing a patreon page today and i am feeling both excited and nervous to share! i decided to create a patreon page because some financial support would be so helpful in this moment as i am actively job searching, teaching herbalism workshops, and making work. i need support in purchasing some supplies such as dyes and yarns, some support in application fees for fellowships and some support in paying for monthly living expenses and while a bit scary, i decided to ask for some support!
i have shared a few images of the textile work that i have been working on this year, primarily quilting with tea bags, crocheting and dyeing materials - and I can’t wait to share more. I am in the process of completing a few new pieces so that they can then be photographed and shared/ placed on my website. I have been working in these mediums as well as sound and I am excited to make video again. some of the textile work that I am focusing on will be a part of some public programming that i am planning that involve spaces where people can rest and think about the dream world.
it has been so healing to work on my research about south carolina bodies of water and plant material while making these pieces and i can’t wait to share completed works with you all. if you are able to please contribute to my patreon and / or spread the word to others who may like to support!
Thank you!
